A Cruelty Free Makeup Look || Makeup

Cruelty-free makeup and beauty brands is a topic that always seems to captivate a lot of attention from you guys whenever I write about it. Almost one year ago I shared with you a few of my favorite products from brands that don't test on animals and today I decided it was time for some kind of update regarding that aspect. I decided to create a makeup look using only cruelty-free makeup products. This is the perfect look for the warmer days especially if you are into some glowy beautiful makeup.

Kiko Less Is Better Fluid Highlighter: I love to use cream and liquid products in the warmer months instead of powders. For this look, I applied this fluid highlighter as a primer and then on top of my foundation on the spots where I would usually apply highlighter. This product gives me an amazing golden and pearly glow and the fact that I use it both under and on top of my foundation gave the makeup look an extra radiance.
Wet n Wild Photofocus Foundation: This foundation is one of the best purchases I've ever made from the drugstore. I got it a few months ago when I went to Seville even though the shade was too dark for me at the time. I do not regret buying this beautiful foundation. It provides a medium to high coverage that is completely buildable without looking caky. If you are in the market for an inexpensive brand with great products that does no harm to animals what so ever I think Wet n Wild is one of the best options in the market.

Kiko Matte Fusion Pressed Powder: Especially in the Summer I find it essential to use some kind of powder on top of your makeup to make sure it stays put. I admit that I am not the biggest fan of powders but I've been using the Matte Fusion Pressed Powder for a while now and I really like it. It looks really natural when applied to the skin. I also feel like it makes my skin less shiny for much longer then most powders I've used before.

Milani Baked Bronzers and Blushes: Milani powders are a few of m favorites out there. I absolutely love their baked blushes and bronzers. For this makeup, I used their bronzer in the shade Soleil and their blush in the shade Luminoso which is the perfect shade for a summer glowy look.

Urban Decay Brow Tamer: For me when I am going for a simple makeup look I like to leave my brows as natural looking as they can be. I used a bit of the Urban Decay Brow Tamer to brush them and keep them in their place. A clear brow gel is the way to go when it comes to soft looks.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream: This is by far my absolute favorite liquid lipstick form in the world! They are moisturizing and matte at the same time and they are kiss proof which is always a plus. The shade I picked for this look was Stockholm which is a peachy nude, the perfect shade for a soft makeup look that will keep me of worrying about reapplying my lip product (ain't nobody got time for that!)

Et voilá this is the final look I created using these products! I hope you all enjoyed the post and please leave a comment telling me what cruelty-free products I have to try!

90% Cruelty Free Drugstore First Impressions || Makeup

If I were you I would grab a cup of coffee (actually I would grab a cocktail but you do you) because this is going to be a long one...

So I asked you guys on twitter if you wanted to see a post full of first impressions and you all said yes so here we go! I've been buying a lot of new products and I love to watch/read first impressions posts, so I had to do one! I sit here writing this after doing a full glam face of makeup and spending a night at Festival MED, the perfect way to test how everything holdup.

The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer: God knows how excited I was to try a few of The Ordinary skincare products and when I saw that this primer was back in stock I had to order it. I can say that it did not disappoint me. Believe me the last time I wore a silicone based primmer was the PoreFessionel from Benefit and I like this one just as much, if not better. It really made my pores look smaller and my skin feel super hydrated. It's super inexpensive as  well and I really like it so far.
Also The Ordinary is a cruelty free brand!

Catrice Multitalent Fixing Spray Prime and Fine: Catrice is one of my favourite cruelty free brands from the drugstore and when I saw they had released a setting spray I HAD to get it! I don't have a lot of experience when it comes to setting sprays but I can say that I loved the mist in this one. Also it made my skin feel super fresh and I could notice the blush and highlighter on my skin much longer then usual.

Rimmel London Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation: I'm trying to go cruelty free and Rimmel does test on animals when required by law (shame on you China), but I had this foundation to try out and I'm not going to be throwing away brand new makeup, so I used this opportunity to give it a try. The foundation claims to be full coverage but, in my opinion, is a solid medium coverage foundation. The color match is perfect for me (I got the shade 201 Classic Beige). I didn't love the staying power because for a foundation that claims to last 25 hours it couldn't hold up a night even with primmer, setting spray and powder. I will report back to you guys on this one.

Catrice Liquid Camouflage Concealer: I've eared SO many good things about this concealer that I really had to try it. First I must say that here in Portugal the shade range isn't great, I got the darkest shade available at my local drugstore (02) and it still is super light which is a down point for me because even though it brings a lot of light into my under eye it is a bit too light for the summer months.
Besides that this product has a super tick texture but blends out like a dream. Also is probably the most high coverage concealer I ever used!

Wet N Wild Mega Last Lipstick: Believe it or not I had never tried anything from Wet N Wild, such an inexpensive and cruelty free brand. I really wanted to try something for the lips in this look and so I got two of the Mega Last Lipsticks.
First of all I must say that this product has the cheapest package I've ever seen on a lipstick. It feels like the bullet is gonna break of at any moment and it also feels like the lid is not secure. Besides that the formula of the product itself is incredible. It totally reminds me of the formula of my MAC lipsticks and I would rather buy Wet N Wild any day because they don't test on animals.
Also the color range is amazing and I'm sure you will be able to find one that you like.

IV Premium Makeup Passion Brushes: I saw this brushes at the drugstore the other day. I had never heard of the brand and I couldn't find anything online about them (meaning that I don't know their CF status), I took the risk and bought them once they were so inexpensive. I love the mix of the matte black with the metallic pink top on the handle. But that does not make the bushes worth it for me, unfortunately.
The brushes are not dense, which is something that upsets me specially in the kabuki brush. On the first application a lot of hair fell off the brush and the packaging just feels cheap in general, as I apply my makeup I feel like the brush is about to break. So my final tip is, save some pounds and buy yourself a Zoeva Brush which are not only amazing but also cruelty free.

So this is the final look I created using this products. I felt really happy with the result. It's amazing to know that there are so many options in the market that don't test on animals. Unfortunately I'm finding it easier to find products that don't test on animals from the drugstore then from higher hand brands, which is kind of sad because sometimes I do fancy myself some higher hand makeup.
Also I just want to say that yesterday I was at Sephora and two girls were buying Nars makeup (which is no longer a CF brand) they had around 200£ each in makeup on their hands, then a third girl shows up and says "You buying that? Nars is not cruelty free anymore.", the girls put everything back, after saying "FUCK THAT". I felt so happy when that happened, it made me realize that this is the kind of world I want to be living in, so thank you for that.

My top 5 cruelty free makeup products

Brands that don't test on animals have never been easier to buy, the prices are not super over budget anymore and quality of the products is just amazing. Today I'm gonna show you my top 5 products that are cruelty free.

The first brand I'm going to talk about it's not gonna be a surprise for most of you. Too Faced is one of my favourite makeup brands of all time.
After seeing a big fuss everywhere (specially on youtube) about the HandgoveRx Primer I knew I had to give it a try. Since I got it it hasn't been a day that I don't use it. It moisturizes my skin and it gives it a super natural healthy glow that I don't get from other primers, however it helps to control the oil on my skin without drying it out. The texture is really similar to a moisturizer. I can't live without this product, I use it every single day, even when I'm not using any makeup because that is just how much I love the effect it gives to my skin.

More on the budget friendly side, if you didn't know already, Kiko Cosmetics is actually another cruelty free brand. I love a lot of Kiko products, they are staples in my makeup routine. Their face powders (blushes, bronzers, highlighters, etc.) are outstanding. But my all time favourite product from the brand is their Long Lasting Sitck 8hour No Transfer Eyeshadow .
I have this shadows in 4 different shades (I always buy a few new ones on the summer tho). This eyeshadow sticks are amazing for on the go makeup. They last a really really long time and are often compared on youtube to the Bobby Brown shadow sticks. My favourtie color is the shade 37 burgundy aka the perfect base to a redish makeup look.

Back to Too Faced we are. Their pallets are THE THING I would recomend to everyone that is yet to try something from the brand. I've had the Chocolate Bar for over a year now and the Sweet Peach for over 3 months and I love them so much. I use one shadow from each almost every day. Also the smell in this pallets just makes me want to eat them (specially the chocolate one). They have other pallets but I think that the minis are too much of an investimest to me, specially when you compare the size of the shadows with the big ones. I really couldn't recommend them more, if you cam't decide between Urban Decay (another cruelty free brand) and Too Faced, when it comes to eyeshadow just go with Too Faced really.

I was shocked when I found out that a brand as cheap as Makeup Revolution was cruelty free. This brand as a lot of products that are a hit or miss but there is one that I can't actually live without. I'm talking about the Ultra Contour Pallet. I love this product, as you can see from the picture. The contour powders are amazing, the highlighters are pretty good too. This pallet is super versatile I can do an eyeshadow look with it and do everything else on my face with it, contour, bronzer, blush, highlighter, setting my face etc. I can't live without it, and for the price I think everyone should try it.

Another brand that I think is not so well known in the UK as it is here in Portugal is the brand Oriflame. I know for sure that they do not test on animals and that all their ingredients are natural because my mum actually sells beauty products from the brand. Even tho I'm not the biggest fan of a lot of their makeup products there are a few that I swear by, specially when we talk about the Giordani Gold Collection. I love their powders, concealers, brow gel and their lipsticks.

Today I'm actually going to talk about the lipsticks, they are super pigmented, they are creamy but they look kind of matte. They have a few colours in the collection but if like me you hate pinks you will feel like Oriflame as a brand in general has a very limited colour selection when it comes to lip products. I found two on this line that I love the Nude colour and the Burgundy colour. Really if you want to try a new makeup brand I could not recommend oriflame more, and when it comes to makeup just pick something from Giordani Gold.
